At intoDNA, we develop STRIDE®, the first platform technology for direct detection of DNA damage. It has been successfully used by leading biotech and pharmaceutical companies and renowned academic groups to accelerate their drug development efforts.

We are now looking for a motivated and talented Senior Scientist to enhance our research initiatives.

As a key member of our growing research team, your role will involve leading and participating in various research projects conducted within our lab. Your responsibilities will span the planning and execution of experiments, including cell cultures, development, and implementation of cellular assays, as well as IF or IHC staining. Additionally, you will be tasked with optimizing laboratory protocols, analyzing and interpreting biological results, and presenting findings.

Responsibilities

SCIENTIFIC EXECUTION & LEADERSHIP:

  • Plan, lead, and execute complex laboratory protocol studies, focusing on mammalian cell culture, cellular assays, IF, and IHC staining.
  • Develop and validate innovative new methods to expand the lab’s service offerings.
  • Mentor junior team members, overseeing their technical development and ensuring high-quality laboratory standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to maintain a competitive edge on ongoing projects and internal R&D.

CLIENT ENGAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION:

  • Act as the Primary Technical Point of Contact: Serve as the bridge between the laboratory and the customer, ensuring scientific objectives align with client expectations.
  • Lead External Meetings: Orchestrate and facilitate project kick-offs, weekly progress updates, and final delivery presentations with global clients.
  • Data Interpretation & Reporting: Translate complex experimental results into actionable insights and professional reports tailored for diverse stakeholder audiences.
  • Relationship Management: Proactively manage project timelines and scope, addressing client feedback with scientific rigor and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Requirements

Essential

  • ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: MSc or equivalent in a Life Science subject (e.g., Biotechnology, Molecular Biology).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience leading scientific projects, with at least 2 years specifically in a fast-paced biotech industry environment.
  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and tissue-based assays (IF/IHC) with a proven track record of independent experimental design.
  • CLIENT & COMMUNICATION EXPERTISE:
  • Client-Facing Track Record: Proven experience in a role requiring heavy involvement with external customers, partners, or stakeholders.
  • High-Level Presentation Skills: Ability to confidently present data and lead technical discussions in front of diverse audiences, from PhD scientists to executive leadership.
  • Exceptional Soft Skills: Professionalism, empathy, and the ability to navigate complex client requirements or project shifts with composure.
  • Language: Native or professional-level fluency in written and spoken English.
  • MINDSET & APPROACH:
  • Project Ownership: Ability to lead a project from the initial "handshake" through to the final deliverable.
  • Analytical Rigor: Strong data interpretation skills and a "beyond the bench" mentality to identify value-add opportunities for clients.
  • Collaborative Spirit: A willingness to provide general laboratory support while simultaneously managing high-level account responsibilities.
